What am I? A 15 year old girl? A guy with tighter jeans than a 15 year old girl? False. I did however accidentally find out that the highly anticipated (by me!) somphomorish All Time Low CD "Nothing Personal" arrived on shelves on July 7th. Shame on me, I got it on the eighth. ATL's PR people need to really step up to the plate, maybe I'm living under a rock but I didn't hear any news about the CD being released, let alone see the the music video for the first single "Weightless" before it was almost obsolete. Before I talk about the CD, I'll tell you a little about the video, which I actually like a lot (please safe the 15 year old girl jabs till the end...). Here it is:
Weightless - All Time Low (Official Music Video) - Watch more Videos at Vodpod.
Did you watch it? I did, yes on my own blog, I may be too narcissistic for my own good. Anyway, that music video was better then I thought. For true ATL fans this is a blessing, no more dumb 70's haircut videos full of strippers and midgets, no instead they decide to tare apart their scene. HURRAY! Groupies, haters, wannabes, screaming fans? Ah the hard life. The cameo by Mark Hoppus (Blink 182, +44) was also hilarious, considering he produced this album. This is clearly the best ATL has ever done on a vid so I salute them, and urge them to continue.
To the album! The CD as mentioned above is called "Nothing Personal" and is 12 tracks long (or 14 if you buy it on Itunes, curse you Target!). At first listen I was disappointed, and confused. I couldn't find much of a difference between, NP and "So Wrong, It's Right" ATL's first CD. But I've been listening for a week straight now, and I'm on the verge of figuring it out. As a whole all the songs on SWIR sound the same. When it first came out i thought it was gold, but now I see not so much. NP is much deeper, and I can personally relate to it, as opposed to the first CD which was filled with Hollister friendly beach, girl, or beach girl songs. They all have quick starts in the new CD as well, which is great, ATL is meant to get you and keep you in a good mood. So buy it, (on itunes) and give it a chance. Take a drive with it and rock out in your car, it's great for that. This CD live is going to be off the chain, which I assume everyone will get to hear since ATL tours in a drillion cities. Anyways. Buy it. Listen many times. Repeat. You'll understand.
YES PLEASE : "Break Your Little Heart" "Stella" "Keep the Change You Filthy Animal"
Do I Have To? "Damned if I do Ya" "Therapy"
Final Say 8.0 out of 10
